SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right Chief Financial Officer to lead one of its portfolio companies, a multi-site services business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis in this newly acquired platform. They are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods.

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity.

THE COMPANY:

  • Business Model: Multi-site services
  • End Market: Commercial and Residential
  • Revenue Range: Mid-market
  • Hold Period: 4-5 years
  • Deal Structure: Control buyout

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive scale to roughly $300mm+ within 4-5 years.

  • Drive inorganic growth through extensive acquisitions to expand the geographic footprint of the business
  • Integrate and rebrand the acquisitions made under this holding company
  • Transform and professionalize the finance function from the ground up

THE SPONSOR: This Midwest-based private equity firm has a strong track record of partnering with lower middle-market companies to drive sustainable growth. The firm focuses on healthcare, food and beverage, and business services, targeting founder-led businesses with stable cash flows and clear potential for growth through both organic expansion and industry consolidation.

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes:

  • Business Model: Multi-site services/Engineered services
  • Functional: #1 financial leader of a $50-100mm PE-backed services business or #2 financial leader of a larger PE-backed services business.
  • Orientation: Solid accounting/finance foundation is required
  • Private Equity: Required
  • M&A: Solid integration experience required
  • Tenure: 15-30 years
