About the Position:

The Controller at Turri’s Italian Foods is a senior-level role tasked with overseeing all aspects of financial management. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position plays a key role in driving the company’s long-term growth strategy by managing financial reporting, budgeting, and performance metrics. The Controller will interact with the executive team and lead the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial results and compliance with GAAP standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.

• Manage the P&L, balance sheet, and company cash flow statement while maintaining the integrity of financial statements.

• Oversee the organization’s budgeting and forecasting activities, including annual budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts.

• Supervise and control the accounting department, ensuring efficient month-end and day-to-day operations.

• Maintain the general ledger and related reconciliations.

• Handle sales and use tax calculations, filings, and payments.

• Manage and mentor the accounting team.

• Support annual physical and cycle count inventory programs.

• Foster lender relationships by providing required reporting in line with lending agreements.

• Provide necessary documentation to external auditors.

• Contribute to special projects, such as M&A diligence and integration support.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CMA/CPA preferred).

• 5+ years of proven experience in a Controller or Senior Accountant role, preferably in a distribution or food manufacturing environment.

• Strong accounting expertise, including treasury, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and credit.

• Deep knowledge of costing and inventory management.

• Familiarity with GAAP; certification preferred.

• Experience with Global ProcessPro system is a plus.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).

• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
