LOCATION: New York City 

RETAINED SEARCH PARTNER: Falcon Partners 

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right Chief Financial Officer to lead one of its portfolio companies, a professional services business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis in this platform. They are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods. 

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity.

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive scale. 

  • Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, financial and business plans, providing analysis, insights, and specific guidance to the Board of Directors.  
  • Oversee the evaluation and due diligence process for potential acquisition targets, including financial and operational analysis, interrogation of assets and liabilities, financial modeling, and recommendations and reporting to the Board of Directors. 

 THE SPONSOR: This private equity firm, headquartered in the United States, specializes in scaling lower middle-market businesses. Its portfolio spans industries such as industrial distribution, healthcare, manufacturing, and technology-enabled services. With $4B in cumulative capital commitments and a proven track record of driving transformation, the sponsor currently manages a portfolio of 15+ companies. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: Professional Services 
  • Functional: Top financial leader of a $150mm-$300mm services company OR number two operational leader within a larger enterprise responsible for $300mm-$1B in revenue 
  • Orientation: FP&A experience is required 
  • Private Equity: PE experience is required 
  • M&A: Solid integration experience required 
  • Tenure: 20-35+ years of progressive career success
