LOCATION: Chicago, IL 

RETAINED SEARCH PARTNER: Falcon Partners 

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right Chief Financial Officer to lead one of its portfolio companies, a Multi-Site Services business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis in this newly acquired platform. They are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods. 

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity. 

THE COMPANY: 

  • Business Model: Multi-Site B2B Services  
  • End Market: Mission Critical Facilities 
  • Revenue Range: Mid-market 
  • Hold Period: Exit planned for 2030 
  • Deal Structure: Control buyout 

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive scale within 3-5 years. 

  • Work collaboratively with the finance and operations team to design and institutionalize a finance and analytics infrastructure that scales with the business. 
  • Transform this entrepreneurially led company into a powerful platform business. 
  • Serve as the executive sponsor to lead the implementation and optimization of ERP. 

THE SPONSOR: This private equity firm has a solid history of scaling businesses. Its sector specialties include value-added distribution, specialty services, and niche manufacturing sectors. Today the sponsor owns 15 portfolio companies and has roughly $1B in cumulative capital commitments. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: Multi-Site B2B Services 
  • Functional: Top financial leader of a $150mm-$400mm Multi-Site Services company OR number two financial leader within a larger enterprise responsible for $500mm-$2B in revenue 
  • Orientation: Heavy POC accounting orientation is required with related experience across specialty contracting and field services 
  • Private Equity: Highly preferred  
  • M&A: Solid integration experience nice to have 
  • Tenure: 15-35+ years of progressive career success
