LOCATION: Bay Area, CA 

RETAINED SEARCH PARTNER: Falcon Partners 

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right Chief Financial Officer to lead one of its portfolio companies, a Food and Beverage manufacturing business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis in this newly acquired platform. They are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods.  

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity. 

THE COMPANY: 

  • Business Model: Specialty food ingredients manufacturing 
  • End Market: Food & Beverage Manufacturers, CPG, foodservice 
  • Revenue Range: Mid-market 
  • Hold Period: Exit planned for 2030+ 
  • Deal Structure: Control buyout 

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive scale to roughly $200mm within 4-5 years. 

  • Integrate sales, procurement, and operations with finance/accounting.  
  • Have intimate knowledge of manufacturing accounting environments and communicate data throughout the organization.  
  • Improve process, controls, and systems. 

THE SPONSOR: This Pennsylvania-based private equity firm has a solid history of scaling businesses. Its sector specialties include niche manufacturing, business services, consumer, industrial technology, digital infrastructure, foodtech and wastewater infrastructure sectors. Today, the sponsor has $1.2B in cumulative capital commitments. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: Complex process manufacturing 
  • Functional: Top financial leader of a $100mm-$400mm complex process manufacturing company OR number two financial leader within a larger enterprise responsible for $350mm-$1B in revenue 
  • Orientation: Heavy finance and accounting orientation is required with related experience across both finance strategy, cost accounting, financial planning and analysis, and controllership.  
  • Private Equity: Highly preferred 
  • M&A: Solid integration experience is nice to have  
  • Tenure: 20-35+ years of progressive career success
