LOCATION: Remote 

RETAINED SEARCH PARTNER: Falcon Partners 

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right Chief Commercial Officer to lead one of its portfolio companies, a chemical distribution business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis on this platform. They are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods. 

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity.

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive scale. 

Built the company’s go-to-market strategy and institute a commercial playbook defined by systems, processes, rigor and KPIs. 

Develop and leverage an integration framework that prioritizes optimizes cultural assimilation, multiple arbitrage and post-integration synergies. 

Identify, implement, and oversee systems and tools to improve data quality, analysis, and reporting of revenue.  

THE SPONSOR: This Company’s private equity partner has a solid history of scaling businesses in the lower middle-market. Their investments focus on IT, business products, business services, consumer products, and consumer services. The sponsor works closely with management teams to create value in its portfolio companies. Today, they own 15 portfolio companies with $2.2B in assets under management.   

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: Distribution 
  • Functional: Top commercial leader of a $500mm-$2B revenue company OR number two commercial leader within a larger enterprise responsible for $2B plus in revenue 
  • Orientation: Sales, Marketing, and Ecommerce upbringing required 
  • Private Equity: Not required 
  • M&A: Solid integration experience required 
  • Tenure: 20-35+ years of progressive career success
