SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right Head of Tax to lead one of its portfolio companies, a manufacturing and process automation business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis on this newly acquired platform. They are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods.

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity.

THE COMPANY:

  • Business Model: Manufacturing and process automation.
  • End Market: Food and beverage, aerospace, and medical. 
  • Revenue Range: Higher mid-market. 
  • Hold Period: 2 years.
  • Deal Structure: IPO. 

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive scale by being a strategic partner to the CFO.

  • Play a key role in the future of the company by shaping internal control frameworks and readiness for complex transactions, including IPO preparedness.
  • Manage tax implications across a multi-entity, M&A-built platform.
  • Own transfer pricing, international tax positions, and cross-border structuring.



THE SPONSOR: This Southeastern-based private equity firm has a solid history of scaling businesses. Its sector specialties include defense, aerospace, materials and resources, healthcare, energy and information technology. Today the sponsor owns 20 portfolio companies and has $15B in AUM.

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can lead the company to its future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes:

  • Business Model: Manufacturing
  • Functional: Top Tax leader of a $500mm - $1B manufacturing company OR #2 Tax leader of a $1B - $10B+ Manufacturing Company.
  • Orientation: Heavy accounting and international tax experience is required with related experience across analytics, and operations.
  • Public Company: Required
  • M&A: Required
  • Tenure: 10-25+ years of progressive career success.
