SEARCH MANDATE:
Our private equity client is seeking a senior-level Controller tasked with overseeing all aspects of financial management. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position plays a key role in driving the company’s long-term growth strategy by managing financial reporting, budgeting, and performance metrics. The Controller will interact with the executive team and lead the accounting/finance department, ensuring accurate financial results and compliance with GAAP standards.

INVESTMENT THESIS: Continue to uphold and expand upon the company’s strong revenue and EBITDA growth while preparing the company for sale.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages to support internal decision-making and to meet all required third-party reporting requirements
• Support the budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis to identify trends and opportunities
• Ensure timely payroll processing and compliance with relevant regulations
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports for management review, highlighting key performance indicators
• Play an active role in the external financial audit process
• Supervise accounts receivable processes to optimize cash flow and minimize outstanding debts
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support business decisions
• Support special projects as needed, such as ERP implementation, M&A diligence and
integration support
• Collaborate closely with the CFO to build a finance department grounded in operational support, financial expertise and a culture of continuous improvement
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 3-6 years of proven experience in a Controller, Senior Accountant, or Senior Finance Analyst role preferably in a agriculture or manufacturing environment.
• Strong accounting expertise, including treasury, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and credit.
• Deep knowledge of costing and inventory management.
• Familiarity with GAAP; certification preferred.
• Experience with iRely ERP system is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
