CFO at a PE-Backed IT Services Business

LOCATION: Little Chute, WI (onsite) 


SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking a CFO who can partner with management and sponsor to lead growth initiatives, institutionalize processes to enable scaling, and unlock embedded earnings to drive equity value points. The business is a client-centric, leading value-added provider of information technology solutions. 

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity. 


  • Business Model: System Integrator; MSP/VAR. 
  • End Markets: Corporate, education, financial, government and non-for-profit. 
  • Revenue Range: $300-$350mm  
  • Hold Period: Invested in 2022, exit estimated for 2026/27. 
  • Deal Structure: Strategic investment. 
  • Add-ons: Multiple planned during hold; in-house M&A function. 


INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive scale to roughly $500mm within 4-5 years. 

  • Integrate and rebrand the first acquisitions made under this holding company 
  • Transform this entrepreneurially led company into a powerful platform business. 
  • Acquire add-ons that will add scale, product, cross-sell, and multiple arbitrage. 

THE SPONSOR: The multi-strategy private equity firm has over $4.4B AUM across 6 funds and 4 investment strategies. The fund is their lower middle market growth strategy, and helps recapitalize and grow businesses, leveraging deep operational capabilities and industry relationships to position them for accelerated long-term growth. They are augmented by their strategic association with one of the largest operationally focused advisory firms in the world. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: Services 
  • Functional: Successfully CFO of a comparably sized company; or key finance leader of a larger, up-market company. 
  • Asset Class: PE experience may be a plus but is not required. 
  • M&A: Preferred. 
  • ERP: Preferred. 
  • Tenure: 20-35+ years of progressive professional experience including a minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on finance and accounting experience and 3+ years of recent experience leading teams.
