RETAINED SEARCH PARTNER: Falcon Partners 

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right Chief Financial Officer to lead one of its portfolio companies, a turnkey manufacturer of water treatment systems. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis in this newly acquired platform. They are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods. 

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity. 

THE COMPANY: 

  • Business Model: Manufacturer and installer of water treatment systems 
  • End Market: Government agencies, private industrial and commercial sectors  
  • Size: Lower Middle Market 
  • Hold Period: Exit planned in 3-4 years 
  • Deal Structure: Control buyout 

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive organic growth over the hold period. 

  • Continued geographic expansion into new territories  
  • Transform this entrepreneurially led company into a powerful platform business. 
  • Enable and fuel the Company’s inorganic consolidation strategy 

THE SPONSOR: Bain Capital is one of the world’s leading private multi-asset alternative investment firms with approximately $185B in AUM. Their double impact fund focuses on companies across the health & wellness, education & workforce development, and sustainability frontiers.  

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: General manufacturing with an understanding of capital equipment, POC accounting and/or utilization of contract manufacturing is required 
  • Functional: Top financial leader of a lower to middle market machinery manufacturing company OR number two financial leader within a larger enterprise  
  • Orientation: Strong mix of accounting and finance 
  • Private Equity: Required 
  • M&A: Not required 
  • Tenure: 15-35+ years of progressive career success
