RETAINED SEARCH FIRM: Falcon Partners

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking a talented and highly motivated leader to serve as a Financial Operating Partner within its portfolio. Reporting to the Group CFO, the Financial Operating Partner will oversee multiple portfolio companies. They will work closely with portfolio company management teams as a “hands-on” resource providing oversight, support, and guidance while driving for results and establishing a high-performance culture of accountability. The Financial Operating Partner will be a key player in leading the portfolio companies to successful and profitable exits.

THE SPONSOR: This NY-based private equity firm has a three-decade track record of transforming small businesses. It invests across several key sectors including business services. The private equity sponsor has a demonstrated history of robust returns along with a mature operating model.

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor the portfolio’s past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes:

  • 20+ years of progressive and upwardly mobile finance experience, including 5+ years of recent leadership experience at the CFO level
  • Experience in a private equity-backed environment is required 
  • Experience as CFO of a private equity-backed, middle market company that realized a compelling IRR/MOIC at exit is required. 
  • CFO experience in the SaaS or Tech-enabled Services industries is preferred but not required. 
  • Recent experience in a middle-market, battle-tested environment wherein rigor and urgency are ever-present 
  • Experience leading a business through periods of dynamic changes and challenges
  • Strong leadership ability, interpersonal skill set, mentorship mentality, and competitive nature 
  • Early career experience working in Transaction Advisory Services is preferred but not required
