SVP of Sales at a PE-Backed Data Consulting Business

LOCATION: Remote 

RETAINED SEARCH PARTNER: Falcon Partners 

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right SVP of Sales to lead one of its portfolio companies, a data consultancy services business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis in this newly acquired platform. They are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods. 

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity. 

THE COMPANY: 

  • Business Model: Data management consulting 
  • End Market: Manufacturing, distribution, retail 
  • Hold Period: Exit planned for 2027 

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive scale and exit within 4-5 years: 

  • Complete acquisitions that will add scale, service offerings, multiple arbitrages, and expand the company’s global footprint 
  • Executing organic growth with significant white space in key service offerings, including data automation, analysis, and prediction 
  • Professionalization of all functions as the business scales 

THE SPONSOR: This Atlanta-based private equity firm has a solid history of scaling businesses. Its sector specialties include business, industrial, and technology-enabled services, along with transportation & logistics, healthcare, and distribution industries. Today the sponsor owns 19 portfolio companies. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: Data Management Consulting 
  • Functional: Top sales leader of a $30mm-$100mm data consultancy OR number two/divisional sales leader within a larger enterprise 
  • Orientation: Heavy sales orientation is required with related experience across marketing, strategy, and operations 
  • Private Equity: Not required 
  • M&A: Solid experience in cross-selling of acquired products and services 
  • Tenure: 20-35+ years of progressive career success
