VP Sales for PE-Backed Services Business

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right Vice President of Sales to lead one of its portfolio companies, a commercial services business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis and is prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both organic methods. 

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity. 


  • Business Model: Environmental Services
  • End Market: B2B
  • Hold Period: 3-5 years 


  • Organic growth via new and existing customers
  • Install operational excellence to increase EBITDA margin prior to exit  

THE SPONSOR: This California-based private equity firm is a leader that invests in the lower middle market, focusing on manufacturing, consumer products, healthcare and non-financial services. The fund leverages time-tested systems, processes, and methodologies to transform small companies into market leaders.

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: B2B Services
  • Functional: #1 or #2 sales leader of a lower middle market company, or a regional sales leader for an upmarket company
  • Orientation: Heavy sales orientation is required
  • Private Equity: Preferred but not required
  • Tenure: 15+ years of sales experience and some years in a leadership role developing and managing a team of 5-15 direct reports
