LOCATION: Austin, TX and remote candidates considered if open to frequent travel

SEARCH MANDATE: Our venture capital client is seeking the right Director of Partnerships to build a new growth channel for its AI-native platform serving PE-backed physical economy businesses. The company is looking for someone who understands the private equity ecosystem deeply – whether from working at a fund, advising PE-backed businesses, or selling into PE firms – and can use that credibility to open doors, build trust, and convert relationships into pipeline and revenue. This role can also be remote with frequent travel for the right candidate if not based in Austin, TX.

THE COMPANY: 

  • Business Model: B2B SaaS / AI-enabled fintech 
  • End Market: Private Equity Firms and PE-backed portfolio companies 
  • Revenue Range: Early growth / scaling 
  • Hold Period: Transaction expected in the next 3-6 years 

INVESTMENT THESIS: Help scale a venture-backed fintech platform into the category-defining AR automation provider for PE-backed physical economy businesses. 

  • Build a network of operating partners, deal principals, consultants and commercial operators who understand and engage the PE ecosystem. 
  • Turn early customer wins into proof points that support a repeatable, fund-level partnerships motion. 
  • Establish the platform as a trusted value-creation tool within PE operating playbooks. 

THE SPONSOR: This New York-based venture capital firm has a solid history of scaling businesses. Its sector specialties include retail/commerce infrastructure, insurance, logistics and supply chain, energy and climate, and enterprise software. The firm has built a diversified portfolio of growth-oriented companies and has a reputation for supporting companies through formative growth stages.  

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: B2B SaaS / fintech / AI-enabled platform experience  
  • Functional: Commercial leader or business development executive with a documented track record of building fund-level relationships and converting them into pipeline and revenue 
  • Orientation: Strong sales orientation, with related experience across GTM strategy, partnership development, and operational execution 
  • Private Equity: Direct experience working with or selling into PE operating teams is required 
  • Tenure: 10-25+ years of progressive career success
