LOCATION: Cleveland Metropolitan area 

RETAINED SEARCH PARTNER: Falcon Partners 

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right Chief Operating Officer to lead one of its portfolio companies, manufacturing business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis in this platform. They are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods. 

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity. 

THE COMPANY: 

  • Business Model: Multi-Site Process Manufacturing 
  • End Market: B2B and B2C 
  • Deal Structure: Control buyout 

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive scale to roughly $25 million EBITDA within 3-4 years. 

  • Upgrade plants, including automation equipment to reduce manual activity. 
  • Implement a new ERP system for improved decision-making and operational efficiency. 
  • Improve upon material costs that are currently dominating the cost structure. 

THE SPONSOR: This private equity firm has a solid history of scaling businesses. Its sector specialties include aerospace, industrials, agriculture, and transportation. Today the sponsor owns 8 portfolio companies and has $1.4B in AUM. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: Multi-site process manufacturing 
  • Functional: Top operational leader of a $100mm-$250mm manufacturing company OR number two operational leader within a larger enterprise responsible for $250mm-$1B in revenue 
  • Orientation: Tried-and-true operations upbringing with strong manufacturing experience. 
  • Private Equity: Not required 
  • M&A: Solid integration experience required 
  • Tenure: 20-35+ years of progressive career success
