LOCATION: Remote with bi-weekly travel to the Midwest 

RETAINED SEARCH PARTNER: Falcon Partners 

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right Chief Executive Officer to lead one of its portfolio companies, an environmental services business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis on this platform and is prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods. 

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity. 

THE COMPANY: 

  • Business Model: Multi-Site Environmental Services 
  • End Market: B2C Residential  
  • Revenue Range: Mid-market 
  • Hold Period: Exit planned within 2-3 years 
  • Deal Structure: Control buyout 

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the business and drive scale. 

  • Expand geographic footprint and service-line diversification through add-on acquisitions. 
  • Define and execute a go-to-market strategy heavily focused on D2C in-home sales. 
  • Acquire add-ons that will add scale, product, cross-sell, and multiple arbitrages. 
  • Position the business for a successful recapitalization or strategic exit.  

THE SPONSOR: This Chicago-based fund has a solid history of scaling businesses. Its sector specialties include commercial services, digital marketing & e-commerce, tech-enabled products & services, and financial services & fintech. Today the sponsor manages $1.7B in assets, with 11 active platform investments and 30+ add-on acquisitions completed across its portfolio. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek a passionate, committed leader with a contagious will to win who can honor this company's past while also leading it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: Multi-Site Environmental Services  
  • Functional: Proven CEO or other top leader of at a lower middle market environmental services company OR President, COO, or Divisional President within a larger enterprise   
  • Orientation: Sales orientation is highly preferred, along with experience with GTM strategy across marketing, strategy, and operations. 
  • Private Equity: Preferred  
  • M&A: Solid integration experience required 
  • Tenure: 15-30+ years of progressive career success
