LOCATION: Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul Area

RETAINED SEARCH PARTNER: Falcon Partners 

SEARCH MANDATE: Our private equity client is seeking the right Chief Financial Officer to lead one of its portfolio companies, a multi-site professional services business. The sponsor is bullish about its investment thesis, and they are prepared to invest heavily to drive the company's scale using both inorganic and organic methods. 

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary, annual bonus, and wealth-building equity grant make for a compelling economic opportunity. 

THE COMPANY: 

  • Business Model: Multi-Site Professional Services 
  • End Market: Government, Energy, and Commercial Markets
  • Revenue Range: $100mm+ 
  • Hold Period: 3-5 years 
  • Deal Structure: Control buyout 

INVESTMENT THESIS: Transform the financial function of the business and help drive scale of the business as they prepare for an exit in the next three to five years. 

  • Integrate and rebrand acquisitions made under this holding company. 
  • Transform this entrepreneurially led company into a powerful services business. 
  • Upgrade accounting and finance insights to meet the demands of private equity and the board of directors

THE SPONSOR: This Connecticut-based private equity firm has a solid history of scaling businesses. Its sector specialties include manufacturing, distribution, industrial services, building products, automotive aftermarket, packaging and transportation and logistics. Today the sponsor has $400mm+ in cumulative capital commitments. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE: We seek an enthusiastic, committed leader with a contagious will to win and an insistent desire to improve the business and lead it into the future. Our ideal candidate's background most likely includes: 

  • Business Model: Professional Services or Multi-Site Services 
  • Functional: Top financial leader of a $50mm-$250mm professional services company OR number two financial leader within a larger enterprise responsible for $200mm-$500mm in revenue
  • Orientation: Heavy FP&A orientation is preferred with related experience across general professional services 
  • Private Equity: Not required but highly preferred
  • M&A: Not required but highly preferred 
  • Tenure: 15-35+ years of progressive career success
